Safety For were appointed as Principal Designer for the first phase of Valentine Clays new distribution facility in Fenton, to promote the importance of clay and the contemporary world of ceramics within Stoke-on-Trent.

The landmark building is clad in the colours of four different clays to reflect the heart of the business.

The distribution facility includes headquarter offices; a workshop area, which will host ceramic workshops; a corporate events facility, which is available to hire; a gallery showcasing contemporary ceramics, made by Valentine Clay’s customers; and an exhibition area.

Valentine Clay have provided a unique visitor experience, which encourage people to ‘love clay.’  Visitors can observe demonstrations, view exhibits produced using Valentine Clays’ raw material and learn more about the clay manufacturing process.

Future phases will include the construction of state of the art white and red clay manufacturing facilities producing fine clays from its raw material form.

The works started July 2016 and finished early March 2017.  The main design issues were the combined drainage systems, and connecting to existing systems, which were in challenging locations.
