Geopost

Safety For were appointed as CDM Coordinator for the project by St. Modwen Developments. The project was to deliver a 60,0002 ft warehouse and distribution centre. This included fully fitted out offices, with external service and storage yards, car park, landscaping and estate roads.

This was a typical distribution centre design based on a steel frame with 5m cantilevered canopy over the dock loading bays. The elevations were of colour coated profiled and flat metal cladding, and polyester powder coated curtain walling, under a pitched profile metal roof.

The curtain walling and roof was constructed with a non-fragile, twin thermal cladding system with triple skin roof lights and syphonic drainage system.

The warehouse is serviced by 12 loading bays with dock levellers and electrically operated overhead doors.

The building achieved a very good BREEAM rating for the warehouse and office elements and is fully DDA compliant.

This was one of two identical projects the Safety For team worked on, the other being at Stonebridge, Liverpool. Both projects were under construction through the transitional period of the new CDM 2015 regulations and Safety For were able to smoothly manage compliance with the regulations on both projects.
