Weston Road

The project involved the design and build of a new 111,287 sq ft speculative distribution facility at Weston Road, Crewe.  The works consisted of the construction of a high specification distribution facility with 7,437 sq ft of office space, 10 dock level loading bays, accommodation for 20 heavy goods vehicle trailers and extensive car parking. Constructions works included a steel framed, clad warehouse unit with external works including service connections, roadways, pavements, car parking, foul and surface water drainage and landscaping.  The construction phase began in January 2018 and completed in November 2018, over a 41-week period.

The project was built for the Client, Cabot Properties and Quorum Estates.  SFD worked along side the Caddick Construction team, which included the following designers, AEW Architects and Designers Ltd, Francis Bradshaw LLP and Carter Electrical Services Limited.

Some of the design issues that were overcome include working around a MP gas main on the site boundary, access to different levels of roof, a number of ecological constraints and a potential clash between car charging points and the fire strategy.
